Description

The Kantisindi tribeswomen are a genetic offshoot of humanity; a single-gendered race of hedonistic desert women that are best known for their biological ability to store water in their breasts as an adaption to their arid environment.

Their breasts have a complicated system of osmotic regulation that isolates surplus water in their mammary tissue, preventing the rest of the body from being thrown into a state of hypotonic water shock from the vast excess of liquid. When beginning from a fully-laden state, most Kantisindi can function without water for up to twelve days even while engaging in extreme physical activity during the hottest parts of the day. If allowed to rest in the shade and conserve water, they have been observed to last more than a month without water before experiencing significant distress.

The single-gendered reproductive status of their race is thought to be provided by modified ova cellular walls that allow one ovum to fertilize another. The mechanical likelihood of an ovum being exchanged is very low, which has had the social effect of copulation efforts becoming both extremely vigorous and frequent.

The natural skin oils of the Kantisindi sebaceous glands contain a compound that encourages extreme flexibility of the skin, and occurrence of stretch striae on their skin is practically unknown. This flexibility extends to all their skin surface, not merely the breasts. They are occasionally known to use this increased flexibility to engage in strange games that involve blacksmithing bellows or air-swallowing. Long-term physical skin contact with a Kantisindi by other human-like species results in the foreigner developing some semblance of the same increased flexibility the Kantisindi possess, though this quickly fades within a few weeks if not continually renewed.

Their skin is typically deep tan, with black hair and brown eyes being the most common. In stature, they are generally slightly taller than the human norm, with their median height being 191 centimeters. They weigh an average of 90 Kilograms, increasing up to approximately 240 Kilograms when their breasts are fully-laden with water.

The Kantisindi have a well-deserved reputation as physical combatants, making use of an exotic combination of spear-fighting, gymnastics, and opportunistic bashing attacks using their gigantic breasts. They have an extreme aversion to wearing torso armor of any sort. In general combat, they preferentially fight with spears of approximately two and a half meters in length. If combatants close inside convenient spear range, they have little compunction against attacking their opponent using their breasts as bludgeons.

The Kantisindi are commonly organized into desert-dwelling tribes of ten to twenty women along with a number of captives from other species. Neighboring tribes are almost constantly at war with one another. Hostilities between tribes deviate from the humanoid norm, consisting of equal parts genuine combat and what can charitably be described only as erotic roughhousing. They are well-documented as being fascinated with the expanding nature of their own biologies.

Their society is hedonistic in the extreme, with the average member's day consisting of brawling, groping, carousing, and recreational mating along with a minimum of actual work. There is little specialization, with each member of the tribe typically having at least some involvement in raiding, hunting, and maintaining their own equipment.

Their artisan capabilities are of the bronzeworking level, though they will readily use weapons appropriated from other races. Commonly worn articles consist of sashes, loincloths, brass jewelry and leather armor upon the extremities. They dislike torso clothing, which often causes conflict in more polite society.

Their interaction with the environment consists of subsistence hunting, gathering, and raiding nearby settlements and caravans for treasure, slaves, and alcohol. They occasionally trade for foreign goods, but levels of distrust are generally high on both sides.
