I've been playing Champions Online lately...all things considered, it had a fairly smooth launch considering how catastrophically bad MMORPGs generally are on launch day. There are still quite a few bugs and balance issues, but overall the gameplay is quite enjoyable for just having come out a few weeks ago. Time will tell whether or not it will overtake City of Heroes as a hero game, but I think being able to choose powers from more than two sets really adds to the satisfaction of customization. And throwing trucks. I like throwing trucks. My one dissatisfaction is that the maximum limit on waist customization does not allow for the inflationary characters I might otherwise make.

~Rathani's "Inflation Diary" series is probably one of the most in-depth stories I've seen lately in regard to creating a consistent system where the inflation makes sense. It's shaping up to be a great series so far and if you're not familiar with it, I recommend it. [link]
